Very roomy
5 Stars
Very roomy
The main compartment is big enough to hold an M65 field jacket, OCP trousers and combat shirt, hat, leg rig and holster, elbow pads, goggles, shoes and that's just about all it can hold. Inside it all ties down with these handy compression straps. There are four of them inside the main compartment and they hold the gear (or whatever you want to carry) and redistribute the weight to be tidier on your back. The two zippered parts of the main compartment are enough to hold a small Acer tablet, cords, small camcorder (and I could fit a few more electronics/peripherals in there). The waist belt is nice and I have no problems with the Multicam color, it is exact. I would even say this is more of a Scorpion pattern because there are no vertical "twigs" on the pattern, so Army/Air Force folk can easily use this as a backpack without it being out of regulation. I have attached a Condor H2O pouch to the side MOLLE webbing; the only issue is that because that side MOLLE webbing (on both sides of the bag) is affixed to another zippered pouch, when there's a water bottle inside the H2O pouch it becomes floppy and leans away from the bag despite affixing one of the outer compression straps around the H2O pouch. I suspect this would be solved if there were a bulky object or objects inside the zippered pouch to balance out the weight, but I haven't put anything in either side pouch yet. I plan on getting the Condor MOLLE gadget pouch or I-Pouch to affix to the other side when budget allows to balance out the weight a little more and move my camcorder or mini-binoculars to that so it's easily accessible. On the front of the bag I have put the Condor T&T pouch there to hold airsoft gear, batteries, CO2 cartridges, etc. The secondary compartment material seems a little thin but it's a good place to store pens and paper as well as smaller knick-knacks. There is also one more zippered compartment on the front and I have placed 3 packs of freeze-dried food in there for when I am rucking.Overall I am very pleased with the specs, size, and features of this pack. Other than the H2O pouch sticking out like a sore thumb kind of it appeals to me in every way.
